2002 -- 4.5 Qts Capacity

I'm a little concerned as I sit here with one oil soaked rubber glove on.

I drained/refilled my oil with a little over 4 qts...but the dip stick is reading over H. I checked it a few times (haven't started the car since the change...its still up on ramps) but it still reads over H. I don't recall it being that high any of the other times I have changed it.

Should I remove some? If so, how?

or

Does the fact that the car is up on ramps effect the dip stick level? I know the dip sticks are inaccurate...I just don't recall it being that high when I changed my oil last time.

Yes, you should remove some oil. It's not good to have too much oil in your engine and it can void your warranty if Nissan knows about it. From what I've heard, how much oil you put in depends on your engine temperature, surface level and how long you let the oil drain. Good luck.

I drove around for about 30 min and the oil went down to just under FULL. Probably had to work its way into the filter. Thanks!
