Notchy shifting after long drive (when warm)?

Haven't had any replies to this in the 5th gen forum, but I figure this is more relevant to this forum, so I'll post it here-

I've noticed after a long drive (i.e. work to home, ~45 miles), my 5spd tranny gets notchier than normal... 3rd gear in particular seemed a little "crunchy", going back and forth between 3rd and 4th took a little more effort than going between 1st and 2nd while sitting @ idle (it also felt notchier shifting in motion).

After letting the car sit for 15 minutes or so and taking it back out, it felt smoother again.

I assume this is heat-related, i.e. after a long drive the tranny's really warm so the shifting gets notchy... does this mean I need a thicker fluid?
Right now I'm using Redline MT-90 75W-90 synthetic gear oil, with probably 15-20K miles on it...

I dont know if mine is the same problem as yours...after I've been driving a long time too, my shifter gets real...thick...When I wiggle in neutral, it doesn't wiggle smoothly, its like I'm wiggling through molassas or something. Maybe heat related too? If my car cools down a good amount of time, it gets better. I'm gonna change my tranny fluid, maybe that'll help.

Mine's not "thick", it actually feels more "thick" when it's cold (and REALLY REALLY cold, i.e. 25F outside overnight)... but in this situation, it feels more "crunchy" going into gears (neutral feels normal)
