Last Friday got the dealer flush and fill with Amsoil in the tranny for 119.00. Well there is a noticable diffrence in acceleration , not supercharger or turbo acceleration , but it definitely is a tad bit quicker on take offs. Shifts are smoother,and highway kick downs are more instant. Especially when traveling at speeds of 75 then mashing the gas, the car flys to a 100 alot quicker.
MPG went up from 26.7-27.2 on the highway, 24.8 -25.1 city. I fail to mention i also have amsoil in my engine.Was it worth the price? I think so......

You too, good deal , i wish i used it on 94'Z Twin turbo when i still had it. I think its a good upgrade. Once i change my spark plugs then upgrade my rotors too crossed drilled rotors (right is starting to warp), then i will start modding my engine. I told the guy at the dealership to check all the codes and TSB. They said my car is running flawless.
I think a good running car w/mods is better than not so good running car w/mods.

Nope , the dealership had it, i could have brought the oil from an outside vendor , but it would have been more. $92 for the ATF from an outside vendor plus $70 from dealership on service. Basically i paid $50 bucks for the Amsoil if you had to break it down form the 120 that i spent. I was sold.
11.5 quarts had to be put in after the flush.
Is mixing with regular ATF or switching on a HIGH mileage vehicle any concern?
If not, then how long should I run for the first change to synthetic?

From what the service manager told me , you don't want to mix the two, either you stick with regular ATF or go Synthetic.
It really doesn't matter wether your car has low or high , if you switch , most new high end cars come with Synthetic already in there engines/tranny.

It's been pretty well maintained, but it's starting to clunk every now and then on a hard upshift and coming to a stop.

No real issues with switching a higher mileage tranny to synthetic as long as it's had regular fluid changes. If it's been neglected at all, some problems MAY crop up.

In some cases, it was these deposits that kept the tranny operational. This is the same reasoning behind people not believing you should change the fluid at all at a certain point or you risk slippage/failure. I think in both cases the dangers are hyped way too much and the probabilty of a problem is remote, but there is the potential. It's a similar argument to switching high mileage engines over. Some people swear up and down the engine WILL leak when you switch. In practice, most of them don't, but it is a possibility depending on how well cared for they were.
