? - Tranny Fluid Change for High Mileage Care

What do you guys recommend for doing a tranny fluid change on a car with 100K+ Miles? I just bought a 94 Max w/136K and I have no idea what maintenance has been done. At one time, I was told that you have to be careful because if the fluid hasn't been changed in a long time that sometimes that sludge is what's holding the tranny together....Thanks.

Urban legend about the sludge. Althought it might affect the feel of the shift, it won't break or fix anything if you change the fluid. At this mileage, just change the filter + fluid and clean the pan. Don't put in synthetic ATF though.
