I wanted to get Redline MT-90 but I cannot find it here in Canada. I am thinking about going with AMSOIL Series 2000 75w-90

I put in Redline MT-90 when i had the tranny rebuilt 2yrs ago...seems pretty good. It shifts smooth and won't damage the brass sleeves in our 4th gens. Make sure what ever oil you get that it's GL-4 not GL-5

I bought the Redline from Hi-Tech Auto on Sheppard Ave in Scarb. Give them a call.

Just got my axle seals replaced and put in Redline MT-90 when the tranny was refilled. Shifting felt firmer at first (probably because the gears weren't fully lubed yet) but today, the second day, it's definitely feeling smoother and smoother and I can feel the gear positions better. I think it's well worth it.

I am using Mobil 1 75-W90 Synthetic. I think that it is GL-5. Why is this a bad thing? It says something on their web site about how its ok to use it on read diffs where GL-4 is required, so how would that affect our MT's?
Mobil 1 : http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lub..._LS_75W-90.asp

I have heard stories of GL5 eating away at tranny bearings and synchros. Flush immediately if it is not GL4 compatable and replace with GL4 or compatable.

Yes, go to the Fluids & Lubricants forum and read the sticky on transmission gear oil. You do NOT want GL-5 touching your tranny.

Mobil's site says "Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90 can also be used in rear axles where API Service GL-4 lubricant is recommended."

The Maxima's transmission is not a rear axle. Rear axles don't have synchros so GL-5 wouldn't be such a problem there.

I sell a lot of AMSOIL 80w-90 synthetic GL-4 to .org members...people have been very happy with it. My cost is $ 14.90/gallon ($19.10 retail), plus tax and shipping from your nearest AMSOIL Product Center.
