well, I think the point is to make your car smoke and smoke out the neighborhood. That seems to be all that people talk about when they use this stuff. It does look like fun.

I didn't even realize the thread was moved. I didn't even think about taking pics of our DE-K because I made the thread in the 3rd gen section.

Yes. You can suck it threw the Intake to clean the intake/valves/combustion chamber. You can also put it in the gas tank to clean the injectors, and you can put it in your crank case to help clean out the engine.

The more carbon your engine has the bigger the difference you will notice.

I ran 2 cans threw my car when I first got it running, a few months later I had the intake manifold off it, and at 126k it was wayyy wayyy wayyy cleaner than I was expecting. I thought it should have had atleast twice the crap it did have, compared to my 165k motor.

So on a 4th gen, where should I run the sea foam stuff? In fuel tank to clean the fuel system and how much of the bottle should I put in there, in the engine oil, same how much should I put in there, and where else to clean the inside of the engine?

Sea Foam is great stuff. I haven't used it to clean out the engine yet, I have not found a good hose to suck the stuff through on my VQ. But now I'm just gonna use the brake booster hose.

My motor use to burn a little bit of oil on start up or if I got on it hard. I changed my oil a month or two ago, and turned on the car and let it run for about 5 minutes and then poured the 1/4 to a 1/3 of Sea Foam in with the oil. I let it run for another 5 minutes and then shut it off and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I started it back up and gave it a few revs and the car felt better, but it may have been in my head.

The point of my little story is the car doesn't burn any oil anymore!! I have also ran it through my fuel. Next is FINALLY the engine!

Oh and the Napa store around here closed, I got my Sea Foam at O'Reillys the only place that carries it around this neck of the woods.

ok,

i have read through the thread and i still have a couple of questions. I have a 2000 max and have no idea as to where the "brake booster" line is or anything else. so far i know that you can add it to your fuel tank, but what else. how do i get it through my intake and such? What lines do i use and such. I have absolutly no idea about any of this and need detailed instructions, if you can't already tell...

Don't pour it into your TB. Let it get sucked in from the brake booster hose: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=308576

I bought 2 cans. Used a whole can for the gas tank. Used half a can for the crankcase and the other half for the brake booster line.

I used a can of seafoam today.

i put about 1/3 in the brake pump hose, put slightly less than 1/4 in crankcase and put the rest in the fuel tank.

My car did smoke for a bout 5 minutes but not as much as some said it will.

My car seems alittle more responsive and it almost seems as if my motor runs alot quiter. I only drove around town for about 15 minutes so it prolly all hasn't gone to work yet.

Is this the same thing as an "Induction Service" like at FireStone?

Never really asked, but you can call them up and ask them what they do. From what I understand, any induction service is basically the same thing as using SeaFoam yourself, but they use a machine to pump in the cleaner slowly into your engine so your engine doesn't hydrolock. Not 100% sure, but you can call them and ask or stop by there if it's on your way I think http://www.bgprod.com has info about their induction service which should be similar to other ones at shops.
