Not correct. Go all the way back to maxima.org forums...the info will be in maintenence/fluids and lubricants. The OEM one that you get from the dealership is very popular.

Why don't you check the little book at a store that sells the things?

Well the OEM works well, Or you could pay the money and get a nice WIX oil filter.

dood..honestly..as long as you dont intend on goign over 4000 miles per oil change and go offroading.. any oil filter, cheap or expensive will do you fine. plus your using synthetic oil..so your good to go.

Most people have had good results using OEM filters. As Max Noob stated - they key is to do regular oil changes... if you have startup rattle (from the timing chain), some filters have better anti-drainback valves (the OEM one for example) than others.. in that case you may want to get the OEM...

Mobil 1 filters are ridiculous in price!
STP makes a really good one.
I have heard shady things about the Fram ones.
OEM are good too.
I personally don't like to go to the stealership, so I just use the STP ones.
