recommended panel air filters?

not really a fluid or lubricant, but it is maintenence. *shrug* i just need some help deciding.

is a k&n really worth the money? theyre pretty expensive, are they better than the oem filter? what other filters are good, and which ones should i avoid?

I just bought a K&N panel air filter two weeks ago. I am not into getting a CAI or hacking my air filter box to pieces. My car is a high speed and I seem to notice more pickup when I boot it. I got slightly better gas mileage on a recent trip as well. There's nothing to cleaning them, but I won't be doing that any time soon and haven't bought the cleaning kit yet. My car is stock except I have just added a FSTB and have a Budget Y-pipe arriving very soon. I think I am catching the dreaded mod disease.

Typo, I meant my car is a five-speed and if I run it through the gears (without trying to red-line it) there is more pickup.

Amsoil. Stops more dirt than K&N and has the same air flow charactreristics.

Not sure if they have Mopac in Ontario. I got a K&N panel filter for less than $47 plus tax, $16 cheaper than Lordco and only slightly more in C$ than what is being posted in US$ in the U.S. of A.
