What type of Auto Trany fluid do i need? i have a 2002 maxima. I am going to Switch to Mobil 1 Synth. but i dont know the specs on the trany fluid. any help would be great. thanks guys, oh yea do we have trany filters advanced said i dont show one in there computer?

 

our tranny fluid is dexronIII/mercon. the mobile 1 is compatible with our stock fluid so they can be mixed. the computer @ advance auto was right because we have a screen, not a filter. they do sale a tranny pan gasket with the screen @ advance, they took 1 day to get mine in. i use mobil 1 since its easy to get @ pepboys

 

Yup, Mobil 1. I switched mine out twice. Once at 20K and again at 30K (drain from pan then refill with 4.5 qts).

Make sure you only refill 4 qts, drive, check level and then add. On my second change it only took about 4 qts (didn't let it drain long enough I guess) and I overfilled by about 1/2 a quart.

I have drained and refilled the 2k with almost 6 quarts of M1 ATF.

 

I dropped the pan and refilled with 6qt of M1. I have a cooler.
