oil filter

i know the discontinued is in the stickies sorry to post this. i was just wondering if running a generic oil filter is bad. i usually just go to bumper to bumper and get the fram P8632 filter. thats whats in the fram book for the VE motor. also would switching filters make the VTC tick alittle less???

thanks
Steve

Cheap construction, less filter media (last I heard). There's a reason why Fram makes most generic filters for other people, and why they and Frams are the cheapest to buy....
