Wix oil filter any good?

I've seen information saying their great and that their not so great. Does anybody have information of whethere they are better or not? There isn't a listing of one in the oil analysis spreadsheet. I'm just curious.

Use the NAPA GOLD or WIX, they are GOOD filters.

I appreciate you responding that they are good filters, but do you have any information to back it up? I'm looking for some good proof that they are or are not good filters. Thanks!

I use the Wix 51356 filter almost exclusively now on both my Maxima and Altima. I think they are good filters. Built like a tank. I use them because they are one of the few oem equivalents with a silicon ADBV (which is important to me), are cheaper than what I can get Nissan E9000's for around here, and IMO, they have comparable filtering efficiency to the E9000...although I do not know that for a fact. I emailed WIX several years ago to get the 51356 micron rating, and I think they told me the absolute rating was 19 micron, but I'm not sure about that anymore. Never saved their email response. If that is right, it is probably average for a filter. Good luck ever getting that sort of info on a Nissan filter! I've used Nissan, Bosch, SuperTech, Mobil 1, Fram, Purolator, PureOne, Donaldson and K&N oil filters on my Maxima, and have come to the conclusion that Wix is the best value. But that's just me. The only ones I really did not like were the Fram and Donaldson because the valve train was louder with a cold start up. All the rest were good filters too. Good luck.

I use Purolater Premium plus filters all the time on my 97 I30 for last 120K miles (Currently car has 170K miles and running strong as ever).

Below is the link which you can refer to for detailed analysis on different oil filters available in the market. I am not sure if I can post that here. If I can't then moderator please delete my post.

BTW, I got those from local pep-boys for $2.50 each. Watch out for their store coupons. Every other month they come out with those coupons which says 2.50 for premium plus and 5.00 for Pure One filters.

IIRC Napa Gold are Wix filters. From experience they are pretty good filters as well as purolators especially their PureOne filters. And my experience is from auto parts, that was my day job for a few years before my current career.

Seems to me it comes down to two filters. Mobil 1 (M1-105) or the Genuine Nissan filter (9E000)

Only two I am going to use!

Based on the information in the above link, the puralators also seem pretty good. I would still need some more info, but I would think that the wix, oem, mobil and puralators all do a very good job. The only reason I ask is because I am using the 9E000 filter, and my oil still seems to get pretty dirty looking. Am planning on doing an oil analysis as soon as I receive the kit. Hopefully that may shed some light on what the problem might be. I'm looking to try and do longer oil change intervals. Hopefully I can get it up to 10k without any issues.

Well after much research from some friends of mine that work at Honda and Nissan Mobil 1 is probably the best filter to use if you don't mind the fact that it is overpriced at $10 sometimes $11. Next filter to use would be the Nissan part# 15208-9E000. I was in the Nissan dealer near my house today and the guy tried to give me the 65F00 and got all mad when I told him no way. I noticed that the Mobil 105 is much bigger than the Nissan filter, I was under there today and seemed like it should not be a problem. Has anyone installed the fatter filter on their 05' yet?

Rogo02SE...I did check the sticky. The WIX filter is not listed. That is why I started this thread. Please read my original post.
