I decided to post this in here in response to another thread. I did my own oil change at 2813 cuz I read it's good to do a few times before the 3k mark in order to remove manufacturer junk (I was just going to wait until 3k until I read this so I hurried up and changed it) I read in the suggested oils thread that Mobil1 reg and plus were top oils so I got the plus which is a blend of syn and reg. There was a response that the syn was added too soon and could prevent the engine from setting properly? My questions are:

-Is there reason to be alarmed and change out the oil immediately even tho this is a blended oil and not full syn and..

-What possible long term effects could this bring about if the damage is a done deal

 

You didn't do anything wrong.

You did the right thing by switching to synthetic right away.
