Mobil 1 vs. Amsoil
Mobil 1 vs. Amsoil
Found this article interesting but nothing has been mentioned as to whether the oil analysis has been done after so and so miles. Whatever,

I never heard of 25,000 mile oil change interval as guaranteed by Amsoil!!! That's outrageous!!

Outrageous based upon what? I have actually seen a couple used oil lab analysis on this and similar oils that have made it that distance. Shoot, the Series 2000 0w-30 is potentially usable out to 35k miles. These numbers, on the other hand, represent more of the extreme potential of the oil, versus the everyday expectation of what the oil can do. Note also that you're supposed to do an intermediate oil filter change if you're a candidate for the extended use scenario. Personally, I would not try going this far without a couple UOAs along the way to ensure that the product was holding up.
I recommend that you have a look at Amsoil's corporate website (www.amsoil.com) and read what they say about it. Your link is to one of the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of annoying Amsoil dealer websites that have overpopulated the internet. These tend to contain some inaccuracies and unfortunate distortions.
I have used Amsoil, and based upon my own experience, as well as review of many other people's lab reports, it is generally speaking a good solid product. It is costly, though, especially in top tier form (Series 2000 or 3000) where it is around $8 per quart. Their "garden variety" synthetics are only $5 or so.

http://www.motoroilbible.com/index.html You will see a full rating of all oils broken down by weights. All the brands on the market.
I was able to run Amsoil Series 2k in my 1994 Honda Civic for 20-25k. Unfortunately on my 2k2 Maxima, I can only go about 15k. I normally do 10k changes. Once my Titan breaks in, I'll be doing the once or twice a year changes on that with the Series 2k.
Thats good to hear that someone else is running their AMSOIL like it recommends. Once a year or up to 25,000 miles with oil filter changes at 5k. Since i only do about 10,000 miles a year I do about 3 oil filter changes and then new AMSOIL. I do think that I am going to have to start getting the NAPA filter though. NOT K&N! ANY INPUT.
Try the Mobil 1 filter

The Mobil 1 oil filter and the K&N oil filter are both made by Champion Labs. The K&N has a bias for high flow/lower filtration versus the Mobil 1 with regular flow and high filtration. Both are solid products but the $10+ price tag is a turn off.
