auto tranny fluid change or not?

ok i know that my auto's fluid has not been changed for about 47,000 miles at least thats what was documented. Just wondering if i should go for it and change the fluid maybe try and do a home "flush" or should i just drain fill, or do nothing at all because its a lost cause and changing it will do more damage than good? not sure if i really want to change it out because how old it is, i have about 155K on my tranny so its not new by any means. Would it be safe to switch over to like an amsoil or mobile synthetic ATF? i just dont feel right changing everything else around it making it all good aka knock sensor, O2 sensors, exhaust, oil, throttlebody cleaned, plugs, coilpacks, fuel filter, air filter, tires, lights, so now the only thing basically left is doing somthing with the tranny. so any input on this subject would be great. thanks -Ryan

Had my tranny flushed 2x after I bought the car because I felt shuddering in the throttle, they said it was filthy in there and that was at 39,800 mi. It made a diff. but i htink it was mostly the loose front end on the Max shaking over bumps, after the FSTB feels smooth.

o really the fstb really made that big of differnce? because now more then ever i also feel the shuttering in the front kinda through the gas pedal somtimes. thought it was a mix of tranny and the suspension being so hard. Hmm then maybe ill look into that then. -Ryan

Yea, the flush cleared up the shudder in the pedal for the most part, but I would still feel it going over bumps and on rough roads. You can pick up a FSTB off e-bay for like 20 bucks shipped, thy're just as good as the name brand ones.
