Windshield Wiper Fluid

I could've swore the 03 came with a heater element on the windshield washer reservior. I rarely use my windshield washer fluid but lately, with all this cold weather we've been having in the NE, in the mornings it is frozen. I still have the factory blue stuff in there and I realize it needs to be changed. My questions are:

1. What is the best way to get the old stuff out? Is there are drain and where/how do you access it?
2. What should I replace it with, bare in mind that I would like to use something year round if possible?
3. I've seen these "additives" that you can put in your existing fluid, anyone have any experience with that?
4. How will this fluid impact my new Piaa refills?

I've actually been doing that some! Just didn't know if there was a drain plug in the bottom of it in the fender wheel.

Silver,
I live up in CT, where the temp gets 0 and below, so when I bought my 97 Max last month, I bought a bottle of yellow, washer fluid, that wont freeze. We have already had some mornings where it is -5 with the wind chill, and I have had no problems with the wiper fluid being frozen. As far as once the weather warms up, I dont see anything wrong with keeping the same wiper fluid in there.

After two mornings of being frozen, this morning was the first day the fluid was not. I'm not sure which would be better to add: 1. Replace the blue fluid with Rain-X Premium De-Icer (-35F) that is yellow. 2. Get a De-Icer additive and add that to the blue stuff.

I'm not sure to be honest with you. My wiper fluid was just about bone dry when i replaced it with the yellow. I would think that getting rid of as much of the blue would be your best bet, since that seems to be what is freezing on you.

what I did ^ RainX sucks imo. it works great, but i have found along with others it can "fog" the windshield and gets bad if you ever switch to something else.

I usually buy the cheapest I can find with a -20 deg. rating or better. tried the additive b/c it was on clearence at WatMart this summer.

just leave in what you have and add a winter one or additive. you'll be fine.

Thanks for the feedback. I have kind of weary of the RainX stuff, b/c I've applied RainX before and I hated it too. Did a good job with repelling the rain but seemed to make a haze on my windows.
