thoughts after tranny flush
I just changed out my tranny fluid and i did the whole flush. I dropped the pan cleaned the magnets and all that. I did notice that first gear felt better but second gear is shifting pretty hard now. I can't figure it out. Anyone have any ideas? BTW: i used valvoline 75000 plus tranny fluid
No,there is no filter impala.
What is the maintenance record for the trans? milage?
There SHOULDN"T be a problem changing the fluid unless it was extremely burnt.
What kind of banging are you talking about? A more firm shift or a slamming into gear?

I'm sure i have the right amount and its more like a very quick shift. its only 2nd that does it though. 1st just kinda floats a tad and then bam second. and my tranny fluid was pretty burnt. it has 114k miles on it and i dunno about previous records cuz i got the car a year and a half ago
Fishy: in this case atf syn would make it worse. In some cases a perfectly functioning trans may start malfunctioning changing to syn. One board member did this in his I30 and his 2/3 began slipping.
Icewake: Sounds like your 1/2 is slipping. Do the rpms keep climbing but the trans seems kinda in N, then drops a bang? If so, you might want to try adding the old fluid back or looking into a new/rebuilt trans. The reason you would want to add the old stuff back is b/c it has so much clutch material in it that will help bandaid the problem unitl you can figure out a fix.
