Conventional and Synthetic ATF blend

Well time to change tranny fluid. Probably about several litres, (to U.S. buddies .9 litre is about one U.S. Quart).

Don't know if "Amsoil" synthetic available in Toronto, but synthetic is expensive.

If I did about 50/50 conventional and synthetic, is that a problem?

Also, will use a torque wrench. I forgot is metric or english(lb/ft) used for 21 bolts on tranny for a 98 Maxima?

I can place an AMSOIL order for you and arrange for you to pick it up from the Product Center in Toronto...I sell for dealer cost and you will save the shipping. See my post in the Group Deals section. I have a couple other customers in Toronto, and the process worked out great for them. Pls send me a PM and let me know how much fluid you need...for a drain/refill I recommend 6-quarts to be on the safe side...get a case (12) if you are going to do a complete flush...any fluid left over can be used in your power steering. Let me know and I will get a price in Canadian dollars and get back with you.

AMSOIL ATF is fully compatible with petroleum fluids, so there will not be an issue if the AMSOIL mixes with the old stuff...

If you regularly flush your tranny then conventional Chevron Dexron(H) is good enough. I am a regular flusher (every 20K miles) and used Chevron DexronIII(H) a month ago. Great price at Costco for a $1.09 and tranny shifts just fine.

Synthetics are very good but then I have a piece of mind by regularly flushing than taking syn fluids to 60K miles. I am told Nissan ATs are brutal on fluids, regular flushing is a good PM measure.
