I am sure you can. Look in the manual to be 100%, but in my 02 altima's (your car has the same trans as my alty bascially). I just put in Castrol on my last drain.

Try searching.

MerconV has been results compared to DexronIII/Mercon. It seems to smothen out the 1-2 and 2-3 shift bangs considerably.

MerconV works better compared to DexronIII/Mercon when the fluid is cold and the trannys are suspected to be prone to shift shocks.

MerconV is semi-syn GrpIII+ vs DexronIII/Mercon regular GrpII based, well you will have to shell out more for MerconV too.

So I could get Advanced Auto's version of DexIII and be fine for lets say 30k? I really don't want to shell out 130 bucks for Amsoil or Mobil 1....
