Fuel Tank Additives

Do they work? Like the ones to clean injectors?

My car has about 110K miles... wonder if I should buy this stuff.

What about techron, what does that do?

No, but our car has been eating a lot of fuel, plus feels like it does not have the power it used to have.

check your codes. you might have a ghost code like the knock sensor. It won't set the SES light. What mpg are you currently getting?

Yeah i have the knock sensor code, i ordered a new one. Once it arrives imma replace it, along with new air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs... hopefully this works. My mpg is not great, about 16 combined.

Prolly gonna get techron too.

Thats not good, but thats bc of the knock sensor. I fill up at shells today and got 25.4 mpg. We need to raise your mpg bc of gas prices nowadays.

I had a bad KS for ~8 months. Because my car was in pretty good shape I got mpg in the low 20s. In other words, the bad KS is not causing your low 16 mpgs. Try replacing your primary O2 sensors. They get tired without throwing codes. Lack of power is one of those symptoms.

And as for fuel additives, TC-W3 is the ONE.

Fill up tank, put 1 bottle of Techron and 1 bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil in.
Take a 200 mile trip.
Experience silk.

I used techron a few years ago, and the only difference I noticed is my gas gauge stopped working temporarily. Kind of odd...but i am intrigued by this mystery oil you speak of. May have to give that a shot. Also, my mpgs have averaged about 25 since I bought the car in 2009. I have seen as low as 18, an high as 31 though.

Check the sticky out re: TC-W3. Not only is it cheaper (waay cheaper) than MMO and Techron, it works better. Verfied quieter engine at idle, verified cleaner exhaust, on and on.
