what type of motor oil is recommended for my maxima?

Hey Whats up everybody nice to meet you all im new to the nissan game. i just bought an 08 maxima 3.5 se, and i was hearing that this car burns motor oil like no tommorrow. Im researching on what brand of oil is recommended for my car, i want the finest quality. But whatevr i choose to get will be the one ill use from then on so it has to be a prime recommendation for my maxima. Does it have to be a nissan branded product?
Or can it be anything else?
And how many quarts would i need specifically for my car?
Oh also how many miles until i would need another oil change?

The best oil is subjective. Search, read, and decide for yourself. Stick to the recommended weight/viscosity.

As for your other questions, please read your owner's manual. It's spelled out clear as day.

So it's cheaper for you to buy Amsoil locally in Canadia?

I remember seeing a thread somewhere in these forums where the OP did a bunch of tests and took recommendations from all over the forums and consolidated it to come up with a list of good and bad oils for the VQ35. Personally I use castrol gtx high mileage and have since I got it. The lifters were pretty loud and sometimes I got a rough feeling from the engine when I first got the car. I started using that after my first oil change and it immediately fixed both problems. I also use a bottle of Lucas upper cylinder lubricant when I fill up after I do an oil change. Cars sounds and runs like new with 150xxx
