GI: 4th Gen turbo headers
I am in the process of having my turbo set up made. I spoke with the guy to see if he would make for to sell. He is willing to. I would have them made and then sell them for him.
So, I would like to know if there is anyone that would want them. It would be just the headers and connecting tube to where the T3 or T4 flange would go. Hopefully, I will get some pictures up end of next week.
Let me know by posting on here or PM me. Thanks.

These are mostly likely going to use a cross over pipe that comes over the transmission. It would be offered with T3 or T4. I won't know about the price until my set is near completion.

The turbo will sit over the transmission and the battery will be relocated to the trunk. I will be checking on progress on Wednesday. The down pipe might be an option but depending on auto or 5 speed it would make it difficult. I will keep evey one posted.

If im I'mcorrect it will look like this.... this kit uses a crossover pipe and turbo site over the tranny

Yes it will be like that but this will replace the original headers and have v-band flanges to make it easy to remove or do maintenance on the vehicle. The idea is to take off a clamp or two and have the turbo out of the way.

I will know a ballpark figure probably on wednesday. The header flanges, v-bands and turbo flange puts us already at about $180ish. Plus pipes and labor on his part since each one will be hand built off my stock engine and trans that will stay at his shop.

I should be able to get to the shop tomorrow or Wednesday to check on the car. Depending on how far along he is on the car, I should have some information for you guys. My car is a little more complicted then most people. I am also having a custom intake manifold made for the car which he is working on too.
For everyone that is down for this, please pm me your names and contact number. Once I have pictures and prices figured out, I will call each person for confirm if they are in. The first 4 people is all that I will be having these made for. This is because I only have 4 more sets of header flanges left plus mine. If all goes well and we get these made. The first person to pay will be the first to get theirs. So, once he finishes a set, I will mail it out. I will update this again later this week.

I wont' have a price until 1 full set is finished. I was going to go there today but I may not make it since I have a test today and will be at school late as well.
I spoke with him yesterday and he is working to the header with the mock up engine and transmission. That means I should hopefully have pictures of them when I stop by Thursday.
Lastly, if he moves anything around on the car to make these fit, I will have him include all that in the sale for the headers. For now I know that the front mount will be altered or a new will be made. So far you would be getting a pair of headers, crossover pipe, and front mount. There could be other stuff as well.

I just got home from school.
I went to check out the car today. He has one bank finished and the other should be done tomorrow along with the crossover. I did not take any pictures since it was only one side. Most likely, we will be making new front and rear engine mounts as well. So, I will go there Saterday to hekp out and take pictures of the semi finished product. It may even be back in the car to check for fitment. Ok, I am going to bed.

I just got back from the shop. Here are some raw pictures of the headers and crossover. He is still working on them so they are not perfect yet but give you an idea of the where everything will go.
Details
*Each tube is 1.75" into a 3" tube
*Each header will have an o2 bung in it just before the 3" v-band clamp
*Two 3" tubes for the crossover to the turbo
*Turbo will sit really close to where the battery was to allow for the CAI and turbo discharge into the driver side fender
*Two new engine mount using hockey pucks since they are made of a hard urethane and cheap.
*NO DOWNPIPE WILL BE OFFERED SINCE IT WOULD VARY FOR EACH PERSON DEPENDING ON THEIR TURBO HOUSING. THIS WOULD CREATE TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH FITMENT. SORRY GUYS.
Now for pictures.

So, as far as price goes. The rough guess from him right now is around $900 to $950. This would cover the header flanges, v-bands, turbo flange, wastegate flange, tubing, engine mounts, and labor. It may be higher or lower depending on what is relocated or changed. I think that is really cheap since these are being hand made one at a time. Let me know what you guys think.

There will be a v-band on the rear just before the bend. I am having this made with simplicity in mind. I want to be able to take this out quickly to get at the starter, transmission and everything else. Remove a couple of v-bands and go to town is the idea.

The welds will be cleaned up and they will be strong so no need to worry about any leaks. It is hard to weld headers on the engine and form them. They will be finished on the bench.
My car does not have ABS so I really do not know if it will clear. We are trying to keep the pipes close to the engine so there is still more on the driver side.
The 2 some coolant lines in the front of the car will be redone. He just has not got to that yet.
As mentioned before, if anything is altered, it would be added to what you get they the headers.

xwill this work with A/C? why did they use 3" do you know? are you able to find out where they are getting the header flangesfrom and for how much? might come in handy for some one wanting to build their own set up... like me in the future..

They do not affect the a/c. So you will still have a/c. We used 3" since it is less restrictive and will flow better. Why have 3 tubes at 1.75" fighting to flow through a 2.5" tube.
I sell the header flanges for $90 shipped for a pair. At the moment I have 4 sets left and that is why I said I can get 4 sets of the headers with crossover made.

Not bad but I was wondering if that setup will produce alot of heat in the engine bay especially how it wraps around the engine like that. Not to mention all the electrical wiring and sensors that goes around the engine. I bet the whole piping is gonna have to be heat wrapped to keep the heat away from everything. Also which way would the downpipe be route to? Down the front then back or towards the back and then down?

Heat will not be an issue. They will be coated and wrapped. Keeping the heat inside the pipes to move the gas as fast as possible and help with flow.

Thanks for the input. For anyone that wants the crossover to be 2.5" than I will get that for you.
As far as my crossover being 3" I have good reason for it. So, my dyno will speak for itself once the car is finished.
I should have some more pictures today or Thursday.

looks good. what material is this made of? whats the price with the motormount? how much time for a pic inside the engine bay.
dont offended, plenty of dyno queens around, i have just seen 850 whp race cars with with smaller turbo feedpipe thats all.. looks good though, impressive looking

The pictures are from the stock and new engine. Sorry about that.
I said I was going to use hockey pucks because they are stiffer then buying tiny and soft mounts. I will post a picture of the ones I ordered and decided not to use.
I am not offended. I only mentioned the dyno since it seems some of you are worried about spool and pressure. I gave this plenty of thought before using the 3 inch. I looked at flow, velocity, and pressure. Flow and velocity of the air coming in and out of the engine is key. If you have flow and velocity it will created the pressure where it is needed. Having pressure so close to the engine and slowing the velocity only works against the engine and creates heat. That all.
I should have pictures of the new engine in the car with headers and goods by Thursday night.
I posted the price in an earlier post and at the moment it is still in that ballpark.
