Powder coater...

Iv been thinking of purchasing a power coater gun to powdercoat motorcycle parts...

Im a noob and have used one.

so far i have been directed to 2 different brands which seem to be in my budget

one is the eastwoot company "Hotcoat" ($100)

the other is the craftsman powder coater from sears ($150)

anyone have any experience with these?.... or recommend another one that isnt pricey?

---

aside from the gun , an oven , and the powder... what else should i get myself?

and any tips you guys want to give me?

clean area to spray in.
play with smaller test parts first until you get it down pat before you throw your good parts in.

Eastwood

I own a ceramic coating shop and have used several diy guns. The best was the gun from Eastwood. The difficult part about powder coating is having a large oven and a way of getting the part in without shaking or bumping any of the powder off. It also makes a terrible mess.

Good Luck
