how do i jack up the engine?

Ive heard that i should get some plywood and go from the oil pan, but other tell me it wont hold... whats the best way to do it? (Im trying to change the timing belt...)

hoisting from from above would be best. Lower oil pan is soft, so that wont be a good idea. Something more solid though.

You really dont "jack" up the engine. You can hold the engine in place if you swapping a tranny or changing motor mounts. What are you trying to do? I think after that we can get you a better answer.....the question is phrased wierd and unclear what you mean.

I actually used this engine support bar when I changed my clutch kit. It works well and you can adjust the lift while it's support the weight of the engine.

How do you use that bar? Do you set it across the fenders in the engine compartment?
