assistance please

so i was in the middle of swapping in a 03 vq w/ a 05 vq into my sentra. i swapped everything over and come to find out the engine has rod knock or piston slap.

when swapping the oil pan and putting it back onto the 03 vq, is there a specific pattern when putting in the bolts that connect the upper oil pan to the block, and what are the torque specs please?

thanks

chris

This is from the 03 FSM. torque the bolts to 12 - 14 ft/lb.

The torque specs are a couple of pages before the oil pan drawing. Also the are 2 drawings of both the upper and lower oil pans. One drawing for taking off and another drawing for installing. They do not use the same bolt sequencing, so you have to be careful when installing.
