Auto headlights issues

Recently changed the low beam headlights on my 03' maxima, and for some reason I am having issues with the lights coming on. I have to turn the light off and back on to the auto position about 10-15 times for the lights to stay on like they are supposed to. Has anyone else had this problem, and how do I fix it?
