Custom Cold Air Intake. Opinions?
I posted this in the 4th Gen forum, but no one replied.
I wanted to get this K&N filter.
My buddy got me a quote of $66.56 for the filter. Good price?
I'll have a shop bend me the pipe for almost free.
Here is the filter dimensions. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Part number RR-3002.

Good idea / bad idea? Opinions?
Trying to cut corners on car mods to save up for air bags.

K&N's are a litle pricey but worth it, if i were you i would buy one of the K&N's on ebay that come with the MAF adapter cause you are going to need that anyway... they are like 69$
i would do it, and once you get the pipe bent, if you want you could pick up some of that high temp. paint and paint it.

That's a cool filter, but the CAI may not gain from it. The CAI's weakness seems to be the length of the pipe, so adding a freer flowing filter won't help much. This is evidenced by users who converted from POP to CAI with the POP adapter. They have a POP style filter on the end of their CAI as opposed to the stock CAI filter, which is smalller. Gains are negligible, if there is any at all.
