What was your first ride?

It was dumpy for my age when I had it
My first car ever was a 1973 Volvo station wagon with an automatic transmission (used obviously!). Great utility car--it could hold eveything I had in one trip between home and college. But a rather boxy, "family" kind of look to it. Not something for a 19 year old to feel "cool" driving, that's for sure.
It served me well for four years and then I managed to escape into a Honda Prelude followed by a Honda Accord. After that it was a 1995 Maxima SE, my first new car.
When I got the Maxima, I bought it outright instead of leasing because I expected to have it for at least 4 years. I'm now just approaching my 8th year owning it and don't plan on stopping.

first car
technically my first was an 87 Nissan Sentra, I got that for Christmas when I was 15 as a sort of hand me down from my stepmom who stepped up to an Expedition...anyway we took it out on joyrides (no license yet = illegal ) and then before I turned 16 I sold for it $700 on autotrader.com back when it was free to post a no pictures listing. Then somehow I decided to get something big and ended up with an 85 Ford Bronco (351W that liked to need to be rebuilt) I must have been smoking crack to have wanted that thing as my first car ....my dad is restoring it now and uses it as a daily driver, I guess he doesnt mind getting 12MPG Now, I am a freshman in college and bought my 95 SE last summer....it has server me well so far, besides making me want to enroll in .orgaholics anonymous

My first car was an early inline 6 cylinder '70s 4 dr Pontiac Acadian (aka Chevy Nova). Got rid of that and got a 4 banger Mazda 808 from my aunt. Got rid of that and bought new an '81 Honda Prelude 5 spd. It had a bulletproof engine and lasted beyond 100,000 kms. Gave that as a hand-me-down to my niece.

1984 Volvo 245 Turbo station wagon - silver..got it in '96
4spd. manual w/ overdrive
1 working speaker (tape deck played at half speed anyway)
No A/C
seat ended up rusting out and pops took the ride from me.
I want another one...oh well..guess i'm gonna have to step up to a V70 T5, of course w/ a stick. gotta love the fast wagons.

RE: First vehicle
My first vehicle was a 1988 Toyota 4-Runner. Sold it after 3 years and bought a 1988 Honda Accord Lx-i with 28,000 miles, which is when I got into the whole import scene. Year later bought a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo for a winter car so I could store the Accord. Sold the Rodeo after a couple years. Finally sold the Accord this May and bought my 1997 Maxima SE.
Here is a pic of the Accord.

So I only got 9 miles to the gallon, had a freeon leak long enough to kill the ozone single handedly, had bad emmisions, and some rust..... at 16 having a car that destroyed the local camaros and mustangs but still let you fit 13 people (did that a few times ) in the cabin was a great car to me. Long live "The Delta"

Genuine nineteen-seventy-and-nine Plymouth Champ hatchback!
Bought it from my aunt for $1 in 1988 (16th b-day) to avoid paying a "gift tax".
It ran great for about a year, and then the tranny spilled it's guts in the middle of the busiest intersection in town. I was into skateboarding & bicycle freestyling (still have my '86 GT Pro Performer), and I was 1 month from having the car repainted in "GT Blue"! Tranny rebuild was more costly than the car, so I started driving my mom's Olds Cutlass until I could afford my first FUN car... a 1978 Z28.

87 Mazda pickup (thanx mom & dad) My parents bought it for me, we had it a month, they didn't like me driving it and sold it.
90 Maxima SE (96-2002) Thanx again mom and dad. I still absolutely love that car. I wish i hadn't traded it in for my 2k2. I should've kept it and fixed it up.

5L V8. good ol R34 a/c or whatever that old one was i forget. suspension softer than a waterbed. trunk large enough for 6 dead bodies..er golf bags. nice bench back seat *wink wink*. nice bench front seat *wink wink wink*.
so much wear that:
1. the leather is rubbed off the steering wheel so i just have a plastic ring.
2. all the chrome stickers have rubbed off the buttons like lock/unlock and windows.
3. dash is so sundried that the holes drilled to look like speaker grills fell in...so the speakers rattle and buzz now.
4. radio antenna broke off
5. rear seatback and rear dash is white instead of burgundy (from sun damage) :P
6. outside rear vinyl is a little off red
7. no more tape player
