I mean the most recent model. I think it ran production from 94-97 right. Anyways I see a few fixed up ones and they look good sometimes and bad other times. Anyone ever run with one? Know the specs??

I have a friend at work I'm trying to get to do an SR20DET conversion. You can really do wonders in those little cars.

http://www.srswap.com

Not bad, considering the rear wheel drive monster you will have once you do the conversion. There are companies that do the wiring harness conversion for you and its a drop in.

With some mods..300hp easy in a car that is much lighter and RWD.

That would be 240SX, 240ZXs are much older.

not teh VG30DETT, thats swap would be overly complicated and i dont think it would fit. RB26DETT, now that would be something, just have to mate it to the RB25DET transmission for RWD instead of the AWD tranny from the GTR, u would certainly have a monster.

Note: RB25 into a 240sx has been done, thats why i note that.

Search would have yielded my experience.

Also there was no 240ZX. The First Z car was just called 240Z.

Well since he was mistaken with the name of the car (240zx vs. 240sx), a search would NOT have yielded your experience.

My roommate/garagemate drives a 97. Stock, they have the nissan 4-banger tendency to have ample low-end, but really flatten out high-end. Fun car to drive stock even if it does push into the low 16s. Unfortunately my roomie thinks his is a little quicker than that, and can run w/the max w/o a problem...even after a live stock-vs-stock demonstration once

We just found a 1/4 track that has unlimited runs on fridays. We might have to sort this out soon

SR20DET swap in a 97 240 would be good stuff. What engine do the comparable Silvias have overseas? I'd like to see a 97 240 over here with a full Varietta conversion

Um they come with sr20det's stock in Japan
Even though 240sx's are rare over here they have a tremendous amount of aftermartket support.
My next car will be a s14 Kouki ..

It has a good low-end because the 4cyl engine (I think a 2.4???) it the same one used in the similar yeared nissan hardbody's. It's kind of the big joke to the 240sx croud that they are running on truck engines.... Until Mr. SR20DET shows up anyways

yeah sorry 240sx that's what I meant. Good thing you guys figured it out, although come to think of it I would be interested to see what a maxima could do against an old school datsun like a 240z or 510. There are still a few running around LA with mikuni carbs other engine work. I guess i'll just do a search instead of trying to stimulate interesting (not same old "which ypipe is better") topics and conversation

show me one like that and Ill believe, I know you can swap engines with the SR20DET from the OEM KA24 engine. I think someone has put a skyline engine in one, and also Ive seen a 3-series Bimmer with a SR20 in it..which was turbo'd

I have a link to a page with a Silvia(240sx in Japan) with a RB26DETT, boosted to almost 1000hp....

I saw a drag 240SX a while back with a 2JZGTE engine in it. All the power and upgradability of a supra, with like half the weight.

Hello friends this is a club member of my crew that had a 240SX running 11's. It eventually ran 10's but he sold it so the 9's never came.

A 240sx (dosent matter if its not from japan) as long as it has a the engine swap its called a Syliva. Just a little useless info.... my next car will be a 98 240sx and do the swap..... the guys that did my kit already made one.

if u want the 98 240sx bc its has the better looking front end, just FYI, the bumper, hood, fenders and headlight from a 97-98 240 is compatible on a 95-96, i only state this bc most people want the 97-98 bc it looks better, but since the front end parts are all compatible, if u plan on doing a S15 conversion, itll be cheaper on a 95-96 cuz they make kits to do swaps, basically a new hood and fender that matches up with the S15 headlights to make it a direct bolt on.
