how to polish??
I don't recommend spraying in the engine if that's what your search comes up with. I got a few electrical problems with that.
Whatever anyone says, such as "it's perfectly safe to spray water onto the engine," trust your gut instinct. It just isn't safe in my book. If you really have to do it, cover ever electrical component possible, including your cone filter if you have one.
Warm up your engine and cool it until it is bearable to touch. This will help in the drying process and aid the cleaning solutions.
After that, use a mild degreaser, preferably something made with d-limonene. It's made of out the rinds of oranges, and is the strongest natural citris cleaner on the market. Don't use Simple Green if you can avoid it. If you're a car care enthusiast you'll know why. It's degreasing properties are too strong and can possibly deteriorate your rubber over time. So spray a degreaser all over, and let it sit for 10-20 minutes.
Then, spray it off with as little water as possible from your hose, or from a spray bottle (my method). Clean and dry the whole engine bay very well. You'll already notice a very enriched black color.
To finish it off, spray with a rubber protectant or engine bay specific protectant. It will enhance the black color of rubber, as well as give a clean look to metals.

Forgot to mention...
Tools should be things like a scrub brush, toothbrushs, Q-Tips, and toothpicks.
Use rags to dry and buff then engine bay.
Whoops, I see that you wanted to polish your engine bay, not clean it. Sorry. Hope my writeup helped somewhat though.
