Ditto. But I can tell you right now if you're doing a color change and you want to do it right, it's going to be $4k+ unless you have connections.

I agree. Remember when you are changing colors you have to repaint the ENTIRE car, not just that visible on a daily basis. That means door jams, underhood, etc. All that is tedious work and unless you want alot of sloppy overspray, be prepared to pay $$$$ and wait a while.

I just got a 2001 in Merlot (not my favorite color choice, I would much prefered the Dark Grey color) but I thought I would go for the Merlot for now because it had all options including leather seats, bose sound system, sunroof, etc...and I can always change the color down the road in a few years to something more my liking.
But after reading this post, I think...I will stick with my Merlot and be happy with it Other then the color, I am absolutely in love with this car!

Buy a black car. It's not worth it to paint it a different color if you haven't bought the car yet, especially since black is a color option on Maximas. If you wanted to paint it yellow or something, then paint it, but it will save you a lot of time, money, and headache if you just buy a black car. Figure at least $3K for anything decent. $2K may work, but check out their work. My paint is something like $5.5K, but it came out nice.
$2K buys you pretty good-some runs, there will definitely be overspray.
$3K buys you better-should be no runs, no overspray, maybe some orange peel.
$4K+ is where perfection comes in.

Stick with the green to much of a hassle and to me most paint jobs just dont match factory quality overall. They usually have some issue, pealing overspray etc. unlike factory. The paint on our front ends isnt the best although, I just wouldnt do it.

Too get a good price and good work done, it's more of who you know. I would do the same as Shadow says, just go and buy the black max. It's not worth it to buy a max and have it painted the same color you could of already bought it in.
