Should I get a engine flush before first oil syntheic oil change? I have a 2K2 SE with 8500 miles on it and have been using regular 5W-30 motor oil.

do it to make sure you get ALL the dino oil out, and also for the piece of mind.

I wouldn't. The consequences of stripping metal against metal components in the engine of lubrication isn't worth the peice of mind...IMO.

I guess it would be necessary if they were incompatible but, as far as I know, most synth oils are now compatible with dino oils.

There should be no logical reason to flush your engine oil. Just drain the dino and pour in the synthetic.

The engine flush is really designed for engines that have been neglected or run on dino oil for a long time. Most synthetics are fully compatible with dino oil, and since your engine is essentially new, the engine flush in your case isn't necessary. You could do it for piece of mind, but it's really overkill at this point.
