Engine sound is kind of different now.. makes a WEEEEEING sound

ok. to be honest I've been pushing my car.
and starting few weeks ago, it made like a weird sound when I started the engine. You know that sound when you are on Reverse and it makes the weeeing~ sound. that comes from my engine when I start it...
do you guys think it's a big problem?
I took it to a shop and they said that I have to leave my car there for a day... and I need my car!!!!
what do you guys think it is?

Re: Engine sound is kind of different now.. makes a WEEEEEING sound

Maybe somebody broke in and installed a turbo during the night?

Start with the easy one... check the belts and make sure they're not loose/frayed/cracked.

I have the same problem here. I think I started noticing it right after they changed my alternator so it may be belt related. Also this sound only happends on cold starts, every other time after its warmed up it will sound fine.
