I just did a search trying to find that post that I saw a while back about what #'s and so forth a 5 speed ecu should have... I just visited a junkyard and I coudlnt varify that it was indeed a 5 speed ecu. Can someone let me know what i should be looking for. I called nissan and the none of the #'s they told me to look for were there.

why bother swapping? the only difference between the auto/5spd ecu is that with the 5spd one your CEL wont come on.

says who? As far as I know this is just a theory.. There is no proof to it.. but it is not the cause of the problem he is having..

What else is there? The auto ECU has extra features so It could talk to the auto tranny like you said. Well, obviously it can't with a 5spd tranny in there, so the light comes on...what other differences could there be? Surely you don't think the Auto ECU performs (speed/power wise) lesser then the 5spd ECU
