Forced Induction and heat
My God!
In Seattle, it never gets VERY hot. (VERY Rarely over 100), and doesn't usually get hot until about late July/Early August, then peters out in late September.
I've noticed for the last few weeks that if it's been over 80 degrees, my car might as well not have a SuperCharger.
Once the night comes in, and it's 65 degrees or cooler, she's back in top form.
But during the day, it's REALLY slow, I may as well not have any mods.
Does heat really make that much of a difference, or am I losing my mind?
I even have a Custom CAI!.

Just be glad you don't live down in New Orleans. It's freaking hot down here almost all the time during the summer. At least 90+ daily. It has cooled down a bit lately because of the rain though.
Heat plays a major part. Since you have a SC, it will affect you even more I think. Maybe you should just take it easy on hot days.

Isnt it amazing how much heat and hunmidy kills the perf. on a FI car? My car gets so heat soaked. The car is awful, i might as well not even drive the car in hot weather. Once the gets cooler, its a whole new story. Also, i had noticed difference in psi during hot days vs cold days. On hot days wi oudl max at about 14.5-15psi. On cooler days i will max out at 16.5psi. It may not seem like a big psi drop to people but believe me, in FI cars, every lbs of boost counts.

Yep.
I noticed today (it was 90 degrees), that I couldn't get over 6PSI.
Just went out to dinner after the sun went down and it had cooled down to about 70.
8 PSI.

I wouldn't complain too much if I was you. You get to fly a freaking jet!

Must be loads of fun. I wish I could at least one day get a ride in one.

I can neither confirm nor deny this claim.

lol...yeah right. The info on your webpage pretty much gave it away.

Don't go Area 51 on us Cheston.
There is also something else I noticed with the heat.
In Chicago, it also gets pretty hot. When the engine is cold, I start her up, warm up to about 700 degrees F on the EGT & start driving. The pull is incredible. However, after about an hour or less of driving, the "extra" pull goes away.
ALSO, sometimes, I will have a slight hesitation when accelerating at half throttle or so. It goes away if I go WOT, however, mild acceleration, especially in 4th & 5th gear causes some hesitation.
I take it that it is the freaking heat. Even after I installed the cool wrap on the intake tube (that reflects heat), same thing...
You're not alone iansw.
