Alternator Super Charger Pulley problem and cure!
Today, we noticed that the SC belt was fraying on the side and further examination revealed that the angle of the belt coming off the alternator pulley was not 90 degrees. Also we found that the grooves on this pulley were highly polished. To correct the problem, I ordered a new stock pulley and I will send it to Auto specialties in Texas and have them make a new pulley 1/4 " larger in diameter.
Hopefully this will stop my belts from getting burned up from slipping on the alternator pulley!!
By the way, I am presently using a 3.125 pulley.
Has anyone else noticed this type of problem??

so your belt is slipping away from the motor??
if yes are you missing any bolts to the plate?
I was missing the one right on the top corner and the one in front of the pulley and also the bolts below the pulley were the wrong size. So by me missing those two top bolts when you rev up the car it will tug down on the plate making the belt drop a bit. So solution was to go to NAPA and got the bolts special ordered and put them on and that solved the belt problem.
By the way RON thanks for the ASP tip with lee and the metal pullies they are great pullies. So once again thanks

since the internals on the V1 are a bit different the highest PSI Mardigrasmax got from his 3.125 pulley was 10.5 PSI, if in doubt you can PM him, he has a 5 speed.

Yes
With my 2.62 the first belt I put on, a cheep Dayco, shreded on the side. However I must confess that I am not quite certain I had it on the alternator pulley properly, I think it was but I'm not 100%. It tore off the first rib of the belt.
If I look down at the alignment of the pullies they are a bit off, the SC sits ~1/8" further away from the motor than the other pullies. It was not this way with the other pullies. I thought about shimming the SC pulley in but only after I changed the belt again, so I didnt do it. The new belt I put on is a Goodyear Gatorback which is supposed to be better then the Dayco. It has been holding up just fine so far. Next belt change I will shim it.
