Remote Start w/Manual Tranny????

Does anyone know of any good alarms that can start manual tranny's or is it a chip that you add to make your car start without the clutch. And if it is a chip, what are good alarms that will start and role windows up and down, and protect my Max really well. Help!!!

I know when I bought my Cliffard G4 Solaris remote start system a year ago, it was fully able to work with a manual transmission vehicle. I'm sure other top companies can as well.

You'd have to find a way to bypass the clutch safety switch. Normally the car won't start unless the switch is depressed, once you hardwire that switch there shouldn't be any reason why the car won't start with an aftermarket alarm.

True but that opens you up to possibly trying to start the vehicle while the tranny is in gear. The way the alarm systems handle this is to ONLY allow bypassing of the safety switch when the tranny is confirmed to be in Neutral, thus eliminating this risk. I don't know how they know, but that's the theory anyway.

Nissans (at least 3rd and 4th gen Maxes) have a neutral safety switch in the ECU. You can use that connected to a hood pin input or such to allow the car to start only if in neutral.

yup, you can do that and then also use a relay to bypass the clutch switch when remote starting (you dont have to hardwire it like someone else mentioned)

It can be done on most remote start systems if you're willing to do some extra wiring with a couple relays.
