go to the hardware store and ask the
guy in the paint department. they'll tell you what to get. when i went he siad something about wet sanding, and take your time painting don't rush it. i was going to paint my rims black too, but i never got around to it. do you guys think these would look good black? not a bark black.

How about removing chrome?
I want to try and polish a wheel. I'm picking up a damaged crhome one (the chrome is peeling bad). Is there a recommended way to remove the rest?
Also, what's the best method to get a polished finish?

sandpaper
Most of the Chilton books say use a 600 grit sandpaper on primer and steel wool on the clearcoat. I would start with the steel wool and see if that makes a differnce. Probaly have to go up to 600, but check with a body shop if you can wait.
I heard that paint will peel unless it is done with a professsional spray and that powder coating is a much more durable finish. Do a search to find out more!!
