Using engine enamel on interior

Hey everybody, I just finished painting some stuff in the engine bay using blue engine enamel (sp?), and I really like the color. I was wondering if I would be able to use this paint on the interior: dash, vents etc..., or if there is a reason why I shouldn't use engine enamel and go out and by interior paint for the job. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm sure as long as you use a good plastic primer, it should work fine. Just becareful you don't bend the plastic too much after the paint dries to prevent cracking, and it should work very well.

Personally, I woud not recommend using engine enamel. It is a bit too think for plastic pieces. I had a bey-otch of a time painting my plastic intake. It chipped like a *****.

Also, the enamel will take away any texture that your interior plastic has.

Get some of the interior paint from an import store. That is what it is designed for.

Try body shops. I had a buddy that had the shop mix up a batch of the colour he wanted (looked like a metallic silver like say on a benz). And I think it looked very good.
