Just ordered drag slicks

I just purchased a set of M&H Drag Slicks sized 6.0/26.0-15 to put on my 11lb Mazda Millenia wheels. They are $144 plus shipping, and will be here thursday most likely so I can get them mounted for this saturday and sunday's Battle of the Imports in Chicago. Now I'm just hoping and praying I'm not biting off more than my tranny can chew here... knock on wood

Good luck!!

Are you going to practice first? I'd say try to get off the line at a lower RPM unless you want to just go all out anyway.

My best time is 14.4. I've been stuck in 14.4s since last november, this will change that. I might be able to pull a high 13 with these.

Hockeyghst I am from southwest michigan.

IMHO 26" is too tall and 6" is too skinney, I got their 24.5"x8.5" and have pulled some 1.9's on them with boost only launching at 5000rpms.

24.5 on what rim size? I searched all over and could only find a 22x8-15 for the 15" rims. Anything smaller will not fit on the A33.

26 x6 sounds like a front slick and where did you find that? If your car is lowered you will probably need to remove the plastic wheel wells.
MT will soon be releasing a 24.5x8-15 which will be a perfect size for the Maxima. Althought it could stand to be a 8.5" wide tire instead of 8.0

I got the size I did because it is a little larger than the stock tire circumferance and will allow me to run through the traps in 3rd gear. I am using 6" wide wheels and there aren't alot of options with a wheel that skinny.

HIGH 13's!! Are you running any kind of boost, including Nitrous?
I am going to be there...not to run, but to watch!
Good Luck to you man!
BTW, why aren't you gonna run with your 15" Kosei rims?

I don't have those 15" Koseis... its a very long story. A certain member of this board took my money and for 5 months never sent the wheels. It has been resolved now.

Also, I did a few calculations. The stock tire (205-65-15) has a circumferance of 80.9" and a diameter of 25.5" This slick has a circumferance of 81.7" and diameter of 26.0, so clearance shouldn't be a problem.

I am using the TSW Revo for my slicks. They are one of the few inexpensive wheels that you can get in a 15x7- 5x114. I was told by someone that the Kosei wheels are prone to break.

The 24.5 x 8.5 -15 is the perfect size for the Maxima. I wish I had been able to find those before we got the 22x8 -15's

And what time does the track open on Sunday?

traction is our enemy you know that since you ran 12's in your Max!!!look at the vehicles hitting 11's and 12's their trap speeds are from 102-108, if he can get some slicks and improve his 60s he should drop right into the 13s.
