I've been challenged to a race!

Bone stock 1996 Infiniti I30t 5-speed vs my bone stock 2002 Maxima SE automatic.

Can I get some opinions please? What's everyone think? You think my hp gain can still take the 5-sp tranny?

Who's gonna get OWN3D?????

I raced a 2002 Maxima at the track a few weeks ago. It was stock, you can see what I have. I had about 1 1/2 car lengths on him till I hit third gear. He started catching up quick. I went into fourth gear and crossed the 1/4 mile marker when he was at my rear bumper. He was a 6 speed. I still think think you will win if he is stock even if you have an automatic!

are u sure? I thought these cars had 190 hp and 205 torque. I thought at those numbers the 2k2 would be able to walk that, even if its auto. I guess I have some things to learn still.

? that has to be BS...a 2002 is running at like 260 hp

with all your mods, you're at a max of 215 hp. I can understand you taking him from the line which still sounds fishy but after a quart mile where u guys are probably doing a good 80 mph atleast, u are still ahead of him?! he must have been a horrible driver....

First off, I am not a bull$hitter! In his defense (apparently mine too), he had only had the Maxima for 2 weeks and complained that it was a lot harder to shift compared to his old Cobra. He had a weak reaction time, but he really started moving after he launched. He chirped third gear and ended up running a 14.8 to my 15.3. We ran twice with the same results and I have it all on video!

lighter weight and with a good launch he should pull the same high 14s 2k2 autos do its a typical time for 4th gen 5spds in terms of consistency i'm sure the 2k2 auto guy would be better but i think with a good run with a proper launch and no mis-shifts I'm pretty sure he has a chance of winning

the 2k2 Should have the advantage over the i30 but if the i30 can drive it will be close but I think its still in favor of the 2k2

We were just running for time trials. The tree dropped and the light went green, I took off. Like I said, he was a little slow on the reaction. I don't think the clock started until he actually started moving. In reality I won since I crossed the line first, but he had a better time, and yes if he would have been right with me on the launch I would have been OWN3D!
