quick question to anyone with alarm

If you have an aftermarket alarm, Lets say a clifford g4, does the security LED in the dash still blink? what happends to the stock alarm? does it set off with the aftermarket alarm or is it eliminated?

well i have the Phython alarm, with blue led scanner. and the security light on the dash still blinks, and my stock alarm is still active, i got the keyless entry with my alarm so if i arm the aftermarket alarm, then the door will be lock, because i got the keyless entry option with my alarm, so when the door is locked, that arms the stock alarm too, and i have tried to arm the alarm and open the door from inside and both of the alarm went off, but i think u can elimintae the stock if you want, but i had no problem with the both alarm, and i also have a shock sensor in my aftermarket alarm, so when the car is in shock, then only my aftermarket alarm will go off and the stock alarm will not, but if i open the door from inside then both of them will go off. And at night, in my car you will see three led flashing, One blue led scanner in the rearview mirror, which you can see it from the front. One the regular red led scanner by the dash and the last one is the stock security alarm light. Its feels good to know you have two alarm ........

I have the Viper 550ESP. The stock alarm is still active too and the OEM Security light still blinks. In fact, once I had the stock alarm go off but not the aftermarket alarm. It turns out I hit the trunk button on my keyfob. I guess that doesn't trigger my aftermarket alarm. Other than that, I've only had the aftermarket alarm go off without the stock alarm.

Later,
-Nick

some of the nicer alarms can enable/disable the stock alarm. You should have any problems. If you really need to, hook a wire from the alarm to the stock disable wire for ground...so when you disarm your new alarm, it'll ground the stock alarm and disable the stock alarm as needed.
