help me solve my TRANNY

Here is the issue for the all great knowing of transmissions. I was driving the max just cruising and I felt a slip in the tranny. of course first thing that came to mind is "Oh my tranny fluid is low for some odd reason." I was wrong about 3 more miles and I couldn't go anywhere. So the problem is that now when I start the car it runs perfectly, however when I try to move it will move about 10 feet then it just rev's high, and doesn't move. Please help me so I can get back on the road. I am in dire need of help. PLease mail me with suggestions @ loudo16@yahoo.com
thanks ,
Lou Trout

Do you have a 5-speed? If so, depending on your mileage, you blew your clutch out of it. Mine did the same exact thing about 2 weeks ago. I had to have the clutch replaced on it.

I think he's got an Auto, he mentioned his tranny fluid might be low.

Sounds like you lost pressure to your clutches. Does it go in reverse? It might be the pump. In that case you probably need a rebuild.

Sorry to say that, but probably your auto tranny is dead. Mine died at 36k. The shop told me that some pump inside died. At first it would slip into third, like rev high and engage, but after it wouldnt go into 3rd. I was still able to manually shift into 2nd and first for a while, but then it died.
