This is just one more reason to keep your racing to the tracks.

Man, I am truly sorry to hear that 98max was died in a accident. Bro my prayers go out to all who were envolved, may God help you all.

Sorry to hear.

Was 98Max the guy with the automatic NOS Maxima that ran like a 14.0? Just making sure I got the right person.

If it's him, I never him, but I talked to him before. A very tragic loss.

That's terrible news :(

My condolences to all those impacted by this incident.

Man, I have a wife, don't ever want to put her in a position where she has to worry. Gotta stop my occasional street races.

Poor guy.

My prayers got out to 98 max, his family, all others involved, and us.

When stuff like this happens I start questioning myself, "Why exactly am I modding my car performance wise when there's no track down here in New Orleans?" I thank God that I pray everytime I leave the house in the morning.

the stated theme of this thread..

Now it scares me when i think about how i tend to "fool around" a bit on the roads. 90% of my "fooling around" i try to keep in empty parking lots. This situation makes all of us think about our agressiveness and occasional racing out on the streets but this realization/epiphany will eventually "wear off" and we wont think about the possible danger of it as much until another incident happens. Sort of like '9/11' where it took the incidents of that day for us to show American pride and sympathy for others; with someone losing a life due to street racing we wont think of the consequences as much until another life is lost or someone is hurt, etc. To try and keep this epiphany from "wearing off" i will have this thread linked in my sig.

Condolences with 98Max and relatives..

I think this would be a good idea. One thing that I truely do not like is reading this stuff on the internet or hearing about it period. I feel that the we cannot show teh true sympathy through keyboards

I never met him and live on the other side of the country, but I think the family would appreciate seeing how much people cared for him.

Its to bad that I couldnt have learned from these stories before my crash, but I am thank ful that god was watching over me. I still am learning day by day. Right now the thing I love the most is to witness someone being effected by my accident and learning from it. Its the greatest gift I could recieve. People learning from my mistakes. Its something I would hate to see others have to deal with.

sorry for the ramble. If you local guys could do something for his family, i am sure they would truely appreciate it.

Maybe Pio can send this thread to his family showing our deepest respects for kevin and his Family. I wish I could have met him in person but our daily conversations was enough to know what a nice guy he was. If he could only see this now and know how many people pray for him and feel the impact of his death.

You will be missed, RIP Kev

I also agree with Cal's reply, it wouldnt be a good idea to arrive at the funeral in that manner. It might cause some undesired emotions from the family..

I don't think sending this thread is a good idea either due to some of the responses in here (ie. "I should cut back on my street racing" etc.)

If someone is a close friend of the family, simply say that the members of a forum he visited sends their condolences. And that's it.

Keep it on the track. It's hard, I know, when you don't have time or money... but it's worth it.
