Gforce ECU now installed...

i finally went to the post office to pick up the ECU sent from brian (bejay). i had the toughest time removing my stock ECU. those screws are just impossible to get to! after a few scraped knuckles i finally put the sob in and took her for a spin. it seems to have increased the throttle response. i'm not exactly sure if my car was going faster, but it certainly felt ferocious. idle is exactly the same and that's where i'm at at this point. i'll hit the track later this week! i'm hoping to see an improvement.

"Now. here's a Myth: Raising the Rev limiter is cool and we should do it! WRONG. This ECU was to maximize NA cars. Anyone who has ever dyno'd the maxima will know that the power loss after 5500 rpms is by far the worst! Even if you have a pop charger/hybrid PR intake, raising the rev limiter to 7k will do absolutely NOTHING. For those with the variable upper intake manifold, then that's where you would want something of a higher rev limiter. But same deal, you would only gain ~2 hp by raising the rev limiter an extra 400 rpms."

Cheston-

The first part is ENTIRELY true, but the second part is not. Here's the link to the real advantage of running a 7000rpm limiter with the VI. It has nothing to do with "peak" power, it has to do with "average" power:
