My friend has a 96 Corolla, with the 1.8 liter engine. He has gotten it to 100 before (although it takes a LONG time) Where do you think it tops out at? He keeps talking **** about how he doesn't go faster because his tires are S rated, but I'm pretty sure the truth is he tops out at 100.

Buy him some z rated tires and tell him to try to go over 100. I bet it craps out at 105 if not 100 though. Those damn 13 inch rims dont cost more than like 30 bucks a piece to cover in rubber...

All right here are the stats for a 95 Corrola,

Get this a whopping 105HP!!
It's screams to 60 in only 10.2
and the 1/4 mile in just17.6
And {you guessed it} a top speed of 105MPH,so your friend is basicaly maxing it out at 100MPH haha,
I love racing these things I remember when I was testing out new ECU/Clutch/Flywheel I got in a race with one{i guess you could call it that sorta} and just destroyed it.

Ya, this kid is SOO funny!! He knows I woop the living **** out of him every time, so now he gets mad everytime I get a new mod...lately he's been talkin **** behind my back on how I "wasted" $700 on suspension mods that do nothing for the car What an idiot...earlier this year he said he wouldn't ride with me anymore, cause my bass was too loud!! HAHA, and this guy is one of my better friends...looks like a Corolla jealousy case to me...sorry, no one prob wants to hear about this, I'm just venting some anger

ok...ok...I can understand bashing on stock Corolla's...they are not really "performance" worthy...I had a rental 2000 Corolla 3-spd AUTO w/ 1.8L variable-valve timing engine and I got the thing to do 110mph on Highway 280...I wouldn't say it was "safe" but still, it did it...now my Corolla...well lets say, it could beat a lot of Maxima's on this forum...

Yea...I like exploring other boards, meet new people...the boards I am usualy on get boring sometimes...

Hey thanks for the insprational quote...I know all the jokes about Toyota. Personally I think TRD USA sucks! All they make now is keychains and polo shirts...I rely on Japanese manufactures to supply my parts...Hey your car is pretty sweet too...I love Nissan, my g/f has a S13 240SX and let me tell you...that thing can Driftttt! Holy moly...I almost got too carried away once, but I will not go into that! Yea you should see my car now, I got the Japan Levin conversion up front, and a huge scoop on the hood (stock)...anyway...

I have a 92 corolla 5 speed base model (AC only option) that I use as my snow car. I have pegged the speedo several times (only goes to 110). It has 185k miles on it and I changed the oil < 15 times. The car is unbelievable if you want basic transportation. As for 0-60 times, I have never done an official timing, but I know it is a hell of a lot quicker than 10.2. In fact, I would say it is very quick for a little 4 banger. I can chirp the tires in 2nd gear and the engine drives very smooth at 80 mph, which I usually cruise at commuting to work. The handling is kind of like floating, though. Never had a problem with it, but it's not a performance car that's for sure.

I think terminal velocity is 155 mph, but you will have to find a building tall enough to drop it from.

Just put a brick on the gas pedal and let it go. You can use radar to get the speed. If it hits a brick wall or something, spend another $500 and get another one.

I have a 90 corolla 5-spd that I commute with.
I hit around 105mph once. I think it was just
about to top out. Although it did not feel
stable at all. Very stupid on my part. I agree
it doesn't have much power. But the car is light
and the 5-speed makes it move much quicker than
you think.

I have seen one crazy Corolla. There is a car club around me that has a killer corolla w/ the 3.0 Camry engine in it. He had a TRD in-take, some kind of ignition (MSD i think), a custom exhaust, and he was planning on using the funny gas. Oh yea, it was a auto though.

Its like saying we stuff our motor into a Altima.

My bro has a 98 corolla LE. and I've taken it to 110 meny times and u'ld be surprised how stable the car was. not a hickup. its no where near a car U'ld compare to a maxima so don't look at it from that angle. Corolla in its class is a solid car. After all its the 2nd most sold car in the world. VW Bettle being the first.

My wife had a 95 Corolla 3 speed auto when i Met her and it topped around 100-105 and it was screaming at that speed. Took forever to get over 80. But she had the lower hp engine. Her sister now has a 95 Prism (same thing) with the better engine and 4 speed auto and it is much quicker. STill not fast but it can probably get 110 or so. These things are peppy around town but lose steam above 50 or 60.

my first car about 6 years ago was an 85 gt model. I think it would go to about 113 if i remember right. It took about 2 miles to get there though. They say it had the sport suspension package awith big sway bars and stuff, but the handling still sucked pretty much.
