If the rims are 16 x 6.5" wide, the answer is yes. 225/55 will work, but 225/50 will not. I have the 16" 5 spoke with the BFG G Force 225/55 ZR16 and the handling is much better than the stock Toyos. Originally posted by infinitiblast

The tire is slightly taller. It fills in the wheel gap some.

I have 225-50-ZR16 tires on my 16 x 6.5" Stock SE rims. They fit. Unless I am sorely mistaken...Originally posted by johnny2kgle

Yes they fit, but are not recommended by the manufacturer for safety reasons. Originally posted by phenryiv1

This is the same debate that has raged on in the 5th gen forum with the 235/45 r17 on the 7" stock 6 spoke rim, stock tires being 225/50r17 and the rim being 17 x 7". In that case, the 235/50 zr17 is the correct size and within manufacturers specifications.
225/55 r16 is correct size, is within the 3% rule, and within the manufacturer's requirements.

Makes sense. So they FIT, but are just not recommended due to the chance of the bead popping off of the rim. Makes sense. I was trying to keep my overall diameter close to stock.Originally posted by johnny2kgle
