Got some estimates at the body shop today....

...and I was wondering if I was getting a good deal or not. I know that you can't really put a price on well done body work, but still.

Here is what I need done: they will be taking out a small gash on the rear wheel well and another larger gash on the drivers side door. They will be painting from the drivers side door all the way to the rear panel. They will also be painting my drivers side mirror. Once that is done they are going to blend the front fender with the new paint and apply clear coat to the whole drivers side.

All this will cost $380

How good of a deal is this?? Should I shop around more?

Thanks

i think you should always shop around to see the prices. if they are then all close, go to the place you trust the most and does best work. i'm wondering how much my bumpers would cost to be touched up...

Thats a pretty good price. My dad is a touches up cars at lexus, bmw, and mercades. Sometimes I work with him. And those prices are about the same with the high class cars we work with. If you lived in Houston, I would give you a good deal.

Yea I'm starting to think that its a great deal as well. The shop that quoted me $380 was recommended to me by my girlfriends family who happen to work in exporting automotive parts. I went to the place and the guy came out and explained everything that would be done and the shop looked pretty clean and decent. It seemed like they were hard workers and took pride in there work.

How ever today I took my car to anther shop by my house. The owner came out, I told him what I would like done, and he jotter down some stuff. We went inside and he gave me an estimate of $750!!! He then brought it down to $650.

Anyway, your dad wouldn't happen to have any body shop buddies in the Miami area would he??

Thanks
