Results from track: 14.167 at 98.77mph
Today I headed to the track to test out how my car would run with the SC. So this was my first time running with the SC. This time I wrote down my launch rpms, so to get an idea on what was best, it really helped me out. All three runs, I left it in Drive with OD on. Also, I didn't lower my tire pressure...33/f 35/r. I didn't even know about the exact tire pressure until I decided not to run anymore and checked out what tire pressure I ran with. Also, no jack or spare tire, that's it, full interior. Hardly any gas left too, the low gas light didn't light up though. Basically, this is how my car is setup on the street.
Here are the specs/mods on my car:
1996 SE Automatic
Vortech V1 SC w/3.125 pulley
Greddy BOV
Custom CAI
WSP YPipe
WSP Test Pipe
Apexi WS Exhaust
VB Mod
Hayen 403 Tranny Cooler
Stock 15" SE wheels with Bridgestone RE950 215/60/15 tires.
Ok, enough of that, on to the details. Highlighted in bold is my best of each.
1st run:
Launch RPM: 1500
R/T: 1.105
60': 2.258
1/8: 9.180
MPH: 78.80
1/4: 14.212
MPH: 97.61
2nd run:
Launch RPM: 1800
R/T: .739
60': 2.237
1/8: 9.142
MPH: 79.09
1/4: 14.167
MPH: 98.45
3rd run:
Launch RPM: 2000
R/T: .985
60': 2.311
1/8: 9.214
MPH: 79.12
1/4: 14.224
MPH: 98.77
Btw, I won all three race.
For Kev:
Boost: 8psi(darn Greddy BOV!)
Fuel Pressure: 80psi
EGT: 1400-1500
Judging by the result, it seem like 1800 rpms is the best launch speed for me. I'm only getting 8psi from the 3.125 pulley. I'm almost certain that the Greddy BOV is behind the missing one or two psi. With some drag radials and proper boost level, I'm sure I can get high 13s.
I'm quite pleased with the results. I was expecting maybe mid 14s to be honest judging by how past SC automatics did.

good 60s Mike. I wish I was there to film the stuff. That would be nice to see all three black max musketeers running to Hattiesburg. Watch out black maximas coming thru . I am happy your very close to 13's. Good times and your only .2 secs away from 13's. You did the same thing I did dont let the air out. Were you using the 18s you ordered or the stock 16s.

Thanks guys!
Deezo: yes, I have more faith in the auto now. I know that it will still lag on me from time to time, but I guess I have to just live with that.
Jaime: I ran with the stock 15s. You would know that if you have read more carefully.

A little more info about the cars that I raced.
The 1st and 3rd run, I ran against the same truck. Yes, a truck! It was a pretty fast truck. It was some kind of full size V8 domestic truck. He ran a 15.0 and a 14.9 on those two runs. Each time, the truck got me out of the hole, both time he had a 2.1 60'. He got me through first gear, second gear and then third gear was when I walked him pretty hard. I'm still not sure what kind of truck it was exactly.
The 2nd run when I ran my best I went up against a Dodge Avenger. It wasn't pretty. He ran a 17.3
There were only a few imports there. A turbo Eclipse ran high to mid 13s, a turbo RX-7 ran low 14s, and my friend's non-turbo 1st gen RX-7 ran high 16s to low 17s. There was also a drag 280Z there, I think he ran 10s. Yes, Nissan represent! Surprisingly there weren't any Hondas/Acuras there. Oops, actually there was one Honda Accord Auto there that's in our "club". He ran mid 16s. Well, that's it.

Congrats on the runs Mike!
If you can get your hands on some lighter rims and some DR's and practice the launch again, I am sure you can pull 14.0-13.9X. This means you should be able to yield 2.1 60fts.
Does your BOV vent 100%? I am not fond of loud BOVs. 100% BOVs tend to make certain cars run a bit richer. i like mine to recirculate back into the system so the boost is there and not lost. Consider a S-AFC and you will be amazed at what it can do for you.
Best of luck ont he hunt for 13's!

Synki: even though I ran with the stock 15" wheels, those plus the heavy Bridgestone tires weren't light. I weighed them before and they weigh in at 44lbs, that's pretty heavy for stock 15s. I'm considering maybe picking a set of Kosei K1's or similar light wheels and slap some drag radials on. I'm running a bit lean actually judging by my EGT. I might even try to see if I can pick up an used Blitz BOV because I had no problem with old SC setup with the Blitz BOV as far as leaks were concern.
Matt: Yeah, I ran at No Problem track.

Yeah I did spin out of the hole. That's why my 60' was only in the 2.2 range. I don't think I need the high stall TC. That would help, but I think drag radials should be my first plan.

Congrats on your time. However your thread title is misleading because your lowest ET and fastest trap speed were from different runs. The way it is now "14.167 at 98.77" looks like you achieved it from the same run.

Yeah I know that, but looking at other people who posted their times, they did the same thing. So I'm just following what their lead.

Thanks Baggy.
I don't think I can purchase any more mods any time soon. Probably have to wait until later next year or even longer. With the SC purchase and now the new 18x8 SSR GT1's, I'm broke.
