I was wondering how many changes there were from 4th to 5th gen Maximas? Is the suspension completely different? New chassis? Brakes larger?

Thanks

A lot of the improvements were in the engine. There is a new intake manifold that is variable and is made of a heat resistant resin material. Also, there is the variable capacity exhaust. In terms of the frame, the car has a larger wheelbase and is heavier.

The stupid transverse link was moved from the front of the rear axle to the rear. Supposedly this works better. It still feels like the rear suspension has no intent to corner well with bumps. 3rd gen had real rear suspension - most other cars do too. Supposedly the structure is a lot stiffer - must have been pretty weak as a front strut brace still makes a BIG difference. Supposedly the manual transmission is internally stronger - time will tell. The wheelbase was increased - which is generally a "good thing", but they didn't modify the steering to compensate so the turning circle sucks!
They also let some c sniffers from California restyle it. I think it used to at least have some dignity, make your own decision on that.
