Injen owners!

Do you get a spot of lag when revving between 2 and 3k. It revs up, misses, and then keeps revving up. It's kind of weird.

Hey, if any of you guys have every gotten to compare your Injen with a Hybrid, or JWT setup, I need your opinion. Is the JWT/hybrid louder than Injen, or vice versa?

I'm suddenly very interested in this pipe...Don't know why.
Any comments will help.

Injen is not as loud in the cabin b/c the filter is so low in the engine bay. Drive through a tunnel and hit it, the sound is still there, just stay away from the elderly while under WOT

I spent weeks debating which intake to go with; It always seemed the only people who knocked the Injen were non-Injen owners. That's whats funny to me...

I found three things you stated not true:

Overrated: I think its underrated, people who don't own one seem to unfairly judge it.

Overpriced: Compared to what? A stillen intake? A place racing CAI? A weapon R intake? Compared to a home depot dryer hose maybe...

False CAI:
I don't know where the intake sits in 4th gens, but in my 2k2 it doesn't sit behind the radiator; it sits off to the side under the battery. I haven't done any temperature test, but the air down there is colder than the air up around the engine, no?

I'll admit sitting above my HOT auto tranny probably doesn't help it; but there's a lot of inrush from under the car that is.

i apologize, i didnt realize that it sat under the battery on the 5th gens. i just think its funny people call it a CAI when its still in the engine bay...

I too was skeptical once...
I'm a believer now though.

They should call it a 7/8 CAI.

I agree with you. The position of the filter isn't as bad as every body makes it out to be. Think about this. Hot air rises. The hottest air in the engine bay will that which has collect directly beneath the hood. So in essence, while I run with my JWT hybrid, I am getting the hottest air possible.

From what I've seen in pictures, the Injen intake does sit near the radiator, but it appears to be sitting lower in an area that gets plenty of air flow. Also, I would imagine (I am actually trying to imagine back to my physics classes) due to convection currents, the hot air forms hot air channels as it rises, as opposed to randomly spreading all around the engine bay. Think about this: When you light a candle, where is the air hottest? In the column of air directly above the flame.

As for overpriced, the Place racing intake has been around 200 for as long as I can remember. I realize that the Injens are 250, but the differential in my mind is not enough to riot about.

So why is everybody slamming it so hard?

actually it's easy to get an injen for around 215 shipped, so the pricing is not that far off from a PR CAI. Alot of ppl just not rather drill a hole in their car, simple as that. I plan to just take off the splash guards underneath the filter when i'm at the track so that it can suck in air rushing from underneath the car, otherwise.. it just sits slightly underneath the battery to the side on the 5th gens.

The Ingen is very effective! This weekend we all WOT'd (9 maxes) from a stop on the Interstate. I was in front (2K2-Auto) with a 2K2 6-speed behind me . I walked away, thinking be wasn't ***** out. Later he told me he was going with everything he had. He needs to get an Ingen. He couldn't believe the difference it made. I like that! (If he reads this, he can confirm if he wants). I also had about 100 lbs. (literally)of stuff in my trunk.

Good to hear everyone is liking the Injen. I did a post about a month about (Injen vs. PR) and I used a temp gun to temp various spots in the engine bay..... The filter was cold, ALL the piping was cooler than the radiator. And one suprise fact is that Where PR CAI piping sits, the temperature is actually 10 degrees higher than Injen piping. I took pictures of various locations after about 10-15 minutes of twisty road, a lot of 2nd, 3rd gear shifting driving.

Those who always knocked on Injen and never believed its functionality needs to find an Injen equipped car, go for a drive and find out the facts themselves before they assume.

Myth one, IT DOES NOT SIT BEHIND THE RADIATOR!!! It sits underneath the battery.

Thanks man! I got mine thru my local shop Speed Concept in Aloha, Oregon 503-356-2222, the owner Tony is a very very good buddy of Injen owner, he can beat any price in the nation.... I got mine for $205, I'm sure UPS shipping is only $10.

Adventon.com but there's a better price from them than it shows on their website through a group deal. Check out the GD area.

Ends up like $234 shipped for 2K2 SE

there has been three different GD's on these injen cai's. Two were hosted by www.southwestautoworks.com, one by another org member, and you can always get a good price from www.adventon.com

good luck
